According to the Republic of Kazakhstan's Environmental Code, trash owners must either securely manage their waste on their own or ensure that it is managed by sending their rubbish to businesses that deal with waste management. On August 6, 2023, Biopetrol company llp and the Ministry of Ecology, Geology, and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan resigned their environmental protection cooperation memorandum, adding updated amounts for 2022–2024. Reducing and eventually eliminating contaminated soil and rubbish dumping is the aim.

According to the conditions of the Memorandum, work is being done on the disposal and processing of historical waste using the biological reclamation of oil and oil product-contaminated soil and the use of an energy-storing additive based on composite materials humate-containing.

The business consistently creates strategies for handling environmental operations and allocates the necessary funds for environmental protection, specifically for environmental costs like paying taxes for regulatory emissions, purchasing insurance, paying for environmental protection measures, investing in environmental impact prevention, etc. The dynamics of increasing compensation for emissions into the atmosphere were not observed for 2022–2023.
